Switzerland

This journey takes us from Munich across the Black Forest to Switzerland. From the Bodensee Lake via Zürich, Luzern, Bern and Lugano to St. Moritz. Our forms of transport are the luxurious VIP Bus, bicycle, horse carnage, steam boats and steam railway (steepest in the world), cabin railway (glacier), etc. You will explore the real Switzerland with Its famous Alp Horn Players and Cheese Fondues. Last, but not least we will also visit Innsbruck and Munich.

Day 1

Arrival at Munich airport. The NOTHEGGER TRAVEL TEAM will welcome you there. By VIP Bus (special trailer for the bicycles) we drive through the Schwarzwald Forest and passing Lake Bodensee to Stein. Stein is a medieval town located on the River Rhein. Evening meal and overnight stay at the Hotel Grenzstein.

Day 2

After breakfast we pedal on our bikes alongside Lake Bodensee to Radolfzell. From here we travel by bus to the Flower Island MAINAU. Later on we continue to Konstanz. We take a boat trip back to our hotel. Overnight stay again in Stein.

Day 3

In the morning we take a walk through the historical town center. Afterwards we visit the "Rhein Waterfalls" and have lunch at the Castle Laufen. Later on we continue to Zurich, where we do some sightseeing, and further on to Schwyz. Evening meal and overnight stay at the Hotel Wysses Rössli.

Day 4

After breakfast we mount our bikes and pedal to Einsiedeln. We have lunch here and afterwards take a leisurely stroll through the village. In the afternoon we return by bus to our hotel. In the evening there is a typical Swiss Party with Fondue and Folk Music (Alp Horn Players). Overnight stay again in Schwyz.

Day 5

In the morning we take a walk through Schwyz. Afterwards we drive by bus to Flüelen from where we go by steamboat across Lake Vierwaldstattersee, reaching Luzern. We dine on the boat enjoying the magnificent panoramic view of the Swiss Alps. In the afternoon we will visit Luzern. Later on we continue to Engelberg, a typical Swiss village in the midst of gloriously green meadows and snow-covered mountain peaks. Evening meal and overnight stay at the Hotel Spannort.

Day 6

In the morning we ascend by cabin railway to the Glacier Titlis. From here we get an excellent view of the Swiss Alps. Afterwards we go by rack railway from Engelberg to Stans. We dine at the restaurant "Burgerstock" from where we can enjoy a marvelous view of Lake Vierwaldstattersee and Luzern. ln the afternoon we ascend by rack railway (the steepest in the world) to the Mt. Pilatus, and arrive at the summit, called the "Esel", after a 10 minute walk.

Day 7

After breakfast we travel by bus to the "Emmental Valley" and stop at the flower village "Huttwil". From here we pedal on our bikes to Heimiswill. We have lunch at the Gasthof Löwe, the oldest pub in this area (built 1275). From Burgdorf we go by train to Grosshöchstetten. We ride on horse carriages th rough romantic countryside to a typical Cheese Dairy. Here we can sample freshly made Emmentaler Cheese. Later on we continue via Thun to Interlaken. Evening meal and overnight stay at the Hotel Viktoria Jungfrau.

Day 8

In the morning we pedal on our bikes along Lake Thunerseetothe Baetushöhle (Cave). From here we return to Interlaken. In the afternoon we drive to the small mountain village Grindelwald. From here we ascend by cable car (Eigerbahn) to the Jungfraujoch (3454 m). From the "Roof of Europe" we can enjoy the fantastic panoramic view of the Swiss Mountain- and Lake Region. In the evening we take a leisurely stroll along Lake Thunersee. Evening meal and overnight stay again in Interlaken.

Day 9

After breakfast we drive by bus along Lake Brienzersee to the "Haslital Valley". Here we walk through a rocky gorge called the "Aarenschlucht". Afterwards we cross the Swiss Alps on the most scenic toll roads, the Grimselpass, Furkapass (2431 m) and Gotthardpass. From Hospental to Airolo we ride on our bikes, and from here we drive further on to Lugano. After dinner we ascend by diagonal railway to the "Monte San Salvatore". From up here we get an excellent view of the Swiss Alps and catch a glimpse of Italy. Overnight stay at the Hotel Admiral.

Day 10

Today we pedal on our bikes round Lake Luganersee, passing Melide and Morcote. From Casoro Figino we take a ferry to Porto Ceresio. Afterwards we travel again on the lake to Campione (Italy). From here we return to our hotel by boat. Evening meal and overnight stay again in Lugano.

Day 11

After breakfast we travel to Lake Como, one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy. From Menaggio we take a boat trip across the lake to Bellagio. We take a short walk through the historical centre of this town. We continue via Chiavenna, and climbing Malojapass to St. Moritz. Overnight stay at a very good hotel in St. Moritz.

Day 12

After breakfast we cross the Alps with the "rätische Bahn" (the highest adhesive cable railway), passing Pontresina, Berninapass and Poschiavo to Tirano (31 12 hours). After lunch we continue by bus via Edolo, Trient and the Brenner Pass to Innsbruck. We stay overnight in a quietly located hotel (indoor swimming pool, sauna, fitness room, etc ... ) near Innsbruck. From here we get a marvelous panoramic view of Innsbruck and the surrounding Alps.

Day 13

Today we go by nostalgic railway to Innsbruck. We do a Sightseeing tour of Innsbruck on horse carriages. Afterwards there is a guided tour through the Old City. We travel on to have lunch at the medieval Town Hall. Afterwards we drive on to a farmhouse to meet the jodelling Franz milking his cows. Here we get a taste of some home-brewed Schnapsl.ln the evening we'll have our farewell party in a cozy mountain hut(1475 m), and will celebrate with Tyrolean Food and Folk Music.

Day 14

After breakfast we drive to Munich. Today we do a sightseeing tour of Munich by bike. In the evening there is a beer party at a Bavarian Brewery.

Airport Munich. End of a scenic tour.
