Starting at Munich we take the route alongside the "Romantische Straße" to the medieval town Rothenburg o.d.T. We pedal on our bikes through the surrounding countryside of Rothenburg, passing beautiful palaces and medieval castles. We continue via Stuttgart to the picturesque city Straßbourg and to Col mar. From here we sail by houseboats on the Canal de la Marne au Rhin. Our romantic journey ends at the Metropolitan City of PARIS.
Arrival at Munich airport. The NOTHEGGER TRAVEL TEAM will welcome you there. By VIP Bus (special trailer for the bicycles) we drive to our hotel in Munich.
In the morning there is a sightseeing tour of Munich by bike. We also visit Nymphenburg Palace and the Olympic Grounds. In the afternoon we will see the concentration camp at Dachau. In the evening there is a beer party at a Bavarian Brewery. Overnight stay in Munich.
Today we drive via Augsburg and Donauworth to Dinkelsbuhl where we do some sightseeing. From here we travel on the "Romantische Straße" to Rothenburg o.d.T. After the evening meal we take a leisurely stroll alongside the historical Town Walls. Overnight stay in a romantic hotel in the centre of the Old Town.
In the morning there is a guided sightseeing tour of Rothenburg. In the afternoon we pedal on our bikes alongside the "Burgenstraße" passing medieval castles and gloriously green countryside. In the evening we dine at the unique Pub "Zur HolI" in the center of Rothenburg Town. Overnight stay again in Rothenburg.
Early in the morning we drive by bus via Heilbronn to Straßburg. We may have the opportunity to visit the PORSCHE COMPANY (famous sports car manufacturers) in Sindelfingen. After dinner we take a leisurely stroll through Straßburg's "PETITE FRANCE", well known for its half-timbered buildings (Fachwerksbauten). Overnight stay at a good hotel in Straßburg.
Today there is a guided sightseeing tour of Straßburg. The afternoon is free at your own disposal. Overnight stay in Straßburg.
After breakfast we pedal on our bikes along the "Alte Weinstraße" to Colmar. We have lunch and afterwards will sample the excellent local wine at a vineyard. From here we travel by bus to Straßburg and settle in our houseboats. Our bikes are on board, so that we can explore interesting byways now and then. Overnight stay in the houseboats.
We sail with our boats from Straßburg via Sarrebourg to Dombaste. (approx. 150 km). Everyone is their own captain. You don't need a certificate to steer the boat. This week we experience the romantic way of life, and we will get to know the real France.
After returning the boats we drive via Nancyto Verdun. On our way to Verdun we ride our bikes alongside the River Mosel and have lunch at the rivers' bank. In Verdun we visit the Battlefields from the First World War. From here we continue by bus to Reims. Evening meal and overnight stay in Reims.
We view the Cathedral in Reims, then drive on to Epernay. The most scenic part through the Champagne Region we travel by bike. In Epernay we visit the Champagne cellar of Most Chandon and see for ourselves how this exciting beverage is made. In the afternoon we continue on our bikes taking in another part of the Champagne region. Late on we drive by bus to Paris. After dinner we view Paris by night and will take a boat trip on the River Seine. Having enjoyed the PARIS NIGHTLIFE we return to our hotel by bus. Overnight stay in a quietly located hotel on the outskirts of Paris.
Today there is a guided sightseeing tour of Paris. In the afternoon we visit Versailles Palace. Overnight stay again in Paris.
